Cradlepoint added the MiFi from Novatel Wireless to its extensive list of supported devices. It allows Sprint and Verizon MiFi owners to use the device as a modem when attached to a Cradlepoint router.

“Customers can increase the range of their Wi-Fi signal, connect up to 64 Wi-Fi devices, and add features like automatic failover and unlimited LAN connections by tethering the MiFi to a CradlePoint router,” said Jack Alton, VP Sales North America for CradlePoint.  “It really is a terrific option for users that need more range and speed than the MiFi can manage, like when you need to cover an entire home or office with a Wi-Fi signal.”

When the MiFi is connected to a laptop, the Wi-Fi is disabled. When connected to a Cradlepoint router, the MiFi works as a simple modem, giving users an internet connection. The Cradlepoint’s router features take over for a much greater user experience when the MiFi is connected as a modem.

Cradlepoint’s firmware release 1.6 supports Sprint’s Sierra Wireless Aircard 402, Sierra Wireles 598, Blackberry Bold, and fixes some issues with Blackberr’ys running 4.5 software. It’s important for other manufacturers to embrace the MiFi devices. They are quality devices that provide a cloud of internet connection. Cradlepoint devices enhance the MiFi experience. Quantum-Wireless.com has a complete selection of MiFi devices along with a selection of Cradlepoint Routers.
