Dear Router Ryan,
Do I need to have a contract with AT&T and have a SIM card to be able to use the Novatel 2372?
Yes, you need an AT&T SIM activated SIM card to use it with the Novatel Wireless MiFi 2372. It works by taking the activated SIM card and placing it in the unlocked MiFi device. It works great as a mobile internet solution. Take it with you when you travel and you’ll have an internet connection.
Quantum-Wireless.com has a complete selection of MiFi devices, along with extra battery for the MiFi 2372. We also have a MiFi car charger for long trips where you’ll always need an internet connection. Users can connect up to five WiFi enabled devices.

Router Ryan's response implies that ONLY an AT&T SIM card will work with the Novatel 2372. Surely that is not the case?
Indeed, that would be tragic, since getting away from AT&T (or long term contracts with Rogers or any carriers) is my primary motivator for considering purchasing an unlocked MiFi from Quantum.
Here is my situation: I live in British Columbia. I own a jail-broken, unlocked 3G iPhone, on which I want to make calls using Skype and Toktumi Line2. At the same time,I need wi-fi on my Windows laptop.
My plan was to get a month-to-month (or maybe annual contract) data plan from Fido, Telus, Bell or Rogers.
Question #1: Am I going to be able to walk into one of those stores with my Novatel MiFi 2372 and have immediate compatibility?
Question #2: Would I be able to get an iPhone plan, with wireless phone minutes plus data, and be able to transfer the SIM between the iPhone and the MiFi?
I will appreciate you clarification. Thank you.
I live in Peru, South America, and I am thinking buy a Mifi in USA next month, but I don’t know if I will need to unlock the device for using it in my country. I need help please.
Vivo en Perú, y estoy pensando comprar un Mifi en Estados Unidos el próximo mes, pero no sé si necesitaré desbloquear el aparato para usarlo en mi país. Necesito ayuda por favor.
Hey
Sandro,
The
Novatel Mifi 2372, sold by Quantum-Wireless, is completely unlocked. That means
it can be used with with any carrier that uses HSPA/UMTS on 850/1900
MHz. Most carriers in both the US and Peru fall under the above category, so
you should be good.
