A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing! We live in a very rural area of New Hampshire. Verizon Wireless has told us that we are ½ mile beyond their broadband area and located in the land of “extended enhanced” service. I am trying desperately to find a way to either tether a cell phone to my laptop OR via a PC card so that I have a high speed Internet connection. Am I dreaming the impossible?
I can get 2 bars on my cell if I stand on the roof. Is there an exterior STRONG antenna + amplifier compatible with EV-DO? What can you recommend?
You would do well with our YX510-PCS-CEL Amplifier but I wouldn’t upgrade the antenna until later. You need to mount this on the roof and then set the YX510 unit within 4-5 feet of your PC air card and cell phone. Both devices will receive a large boost.
