Question :
“I am interested in using a zBoost XL500-CEL which my partner originally purchased for office on personal cell phones. This mobel zBoost indicates it works with 800mhz frequency system. I am on AT&T/Cingular in an area where the link on your website indicats that it uses multiple frequencies : 850/1900/ etc. (zip:76048). I contacted my service provider and was advised that the personal cell phones on my account use sames frequencies: 850/900/1800/1900. [One is Treo 68- and other is LG phone) Does this mean zboost XL500-CEL is compatible with my cell phone service or not?“
Booster Bob answers :
” Hi E., let me properly recommend a course of action by presenting you the facts. First, AT&T in your area is 850 and 1900 Mhz. That means voice will be on 850 almost 90% of the time, then it could switch to 1900 when the towers are crowded. No way to really tell. Data or the internet will be on 1900 all the time. So if you use a black berry, iPhone, or data internet card you will need the Wi-Ex YX510 dual band. Second of all, if you want 90% reliability on voice only then choose the YX500-CEL. Third of all, if you want a fail safe alternative on both then choose the YX510-PCS-CEL 850/1900 unit which covers both. Last but not least, Quantum Wireless is offering the YX500-CEL for only $195.99 and the YX510 for only $278.99. You can purchase online at www.quantum-wireless.com and also contact them to order at 1-877-259-4629. They are also authorized resellers which means you get expedited access to support, a 1 year warranty, and 30 day MB guarantee. Hope this Helps you.”
