Dear Booster Bob,

I have poor cell reception in my 50,000 sq. foot warehouse. I was looking around and hoping that the Cellphone-Mate CM2020 would be able to improve the cell phone signal in my warehouse. Will it work for me?

Yes, The Cellphone-Mate CM2020 is a great large-scale cell signal solution. The CM2020 boosts the signal to and from the cell tower. The booster reduces signal fades and dropped calls while improving voice calls, service range and access. This cell signal booster improves signal strength inside a building without having to be tethered to a cradle or right next to a cell signal booster.

The cellular signal is received by an outside antenna sent through to the amplifier and boosted to your phone through the inside antenna. The signal from your phone transmits to the inside antenna and amplified through the outdoor antenna back to the cell tower.

The Cellphone-MateCM2020 is a complete dual-band kit that amplifies the 800MHz and 1900MHz frequencies. That means it works with all major carriers except the iDEN Nextel Push-to-Talk technology. The kit completes complete with all the necessary crimps and necessary adapters are included in the package. Users don’t have to be worried about how close to the amplifier to get an improved a new signal, users get an improved signal as long as the user’s close to an indoor antenna. The amplifier supports more than one phone, so don’t worry about too many people using their cell phones inside your warehouse.

The CM2020 can be upgraded through an improved outdoor Yagi antenna. Yagi antennas are the strongest antennas available. To improve the signal, users will have to purchase two separate antennas because each Yagi antenna from Cell-phone Mate are single band. They work on either the 800MHz or 1900MHz frequency.

There are also upgradeable indoor antennas that help broadcast the signal out indoors. Most of the indoor antenna upgrades are dual-band dome antennas or bi-directional. Bi-directional indoor antennas mean users must place the antenna in a certain corner of the facility and it broadcasts the improved signal from that point. Dome antennas allow users to place the antenna in the middle of the room, or places where it can broadcast to all points of the facility.

Users will have to purchase the mounting hardware necessary to mount the outdoor antenna to your roof. The Cell-Phone Mate CM2020 is a great large-scale amplifying solution that boosts cell signal for every located inside. Call 1-877-259-4629 to inquire about custom installation of the MC2020.

What does the 60db booster work with? http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/what-does-the-60db-booster-work-with-4538/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/what-does-the-60db-booster-work-with-4538/#comments Tue, 23 Mar 2010 17:38:09 +0000 Booster Bob http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=4538

I have a question about the 60db booster from Digital Antenna. Do they work with all cell phone technologies? We currently have T-Mobile in Kentucky. Do you have to manually change a switch, or do they just automatically work for any band?

The  60db booster from Digital Antenna  is dual-band, meaning that it works on both the 1900MHz and 800MHz frequencies.  Quantum-Wireless.com has an extensive collection of complete cell signal booster kits from Digital Antenna and other cell booster manufacturers.

How Many Feet of Separation is Needed? http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/how-many-feet-of-separation-is-needed-4497/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/how-many-feet-of-separation-is-needed-4497/#comments Fri, 19 Mar 2010 18:46:56 +0000 Booster Bob http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=4497

Dear Booster Bob,

When using a wireless repeater, how much separation do I need between my internal and external antennas?

When you purchase any cell signal booster, there needs to be separation between the external antenna and  base unit. There also needs to be separation between the external antenna and internal antenna if one is necessary. It’s because if there isn’t separation, there’s interference when they’re too close and that leads to the product not working.

For Wi Ex products, it’s usually 15 feet of vertical separation between the external antenna and the base unit. Wilson Electronics cell boosters usually needs more separation. Wilson In-building kits need 70 feet of separation for larger coverage areas and the other in-building kit requires at least 20 feet of separation. It’s less separation with mobile and marine booster kits. When you’re looking to improve the signal inside your house, it’s important to have separation because the unit won’t work otherwise.

Which ZBoost Do I need if I’m in canyon? http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-zboost-do-i-need-if-im-in-canyon-4502/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-zboost-do-i-need-if-im-in-canyon-4502/#comments Fri, 19 Mar 2010 18:43:35 +0000 Booster Bob http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=4502

Dear Booster Bob,

We have a house located in a canyon.  The cell signal is very weak in the canyon. We are T-Mobile subscribers and the 1 to 2 bar signal we get in the Canyon is roaming on AT&T. We know that Verizon users get a better signal here, but not great.

We are planning to install a security system that would use the internet via cell signal for monitoring and communication. In addition, we are looking for 3G capability for our computers. So, we are exploring the z Boost products, trying to determine which product would work the best for us. Which zBoost do we need?

We are planning to install a security system that would use the internet via cell signal for monitoring and communication. In addition, we are looking for 3G capability for our computers.

The right ZBoost for you would be the YX 610 Ultra Platinum edition (Product replaced by YX645). It comes with a bigger directional Yagi antenna that’s necessary to bring the signal in from a long ways away. The Ultra Platinum even amplifies 3G data signals along with the dual-band frequencies for cell phones. The 610 Ultra Platinum is an exclusive item only available at Quantum-Wireless.com. It provides a boost in the areas where the cell signal coverage is minimal.

What boosts a 4G Signal? http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/what-boosts-a-4g-signal-4465/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/what-boosts-a-4g-signal-4465/#comments Mon, 15 Mar 2010 19:46:23 +0000 Booster Bob http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=4465

YX510

Product Replaced by YX545

Dear Booster Bob,

I’m wondering if you know if the new 4G systems will be supported by the YX510 (Product replaced by YX545)? Do you know when we may see 4G on the iPhone?

Answer:

There are no signal boosters right now for the 4G frequencies. The iPhone 4G won’t be around for at least another year. The 510 is just for dual band cell signals and the frequencies are different for 4G technologies.

Quantum-Wireless.com has a complete selection of cell signal boosters from some of the top companies. They also do custom installations for all your signal boost needs.

Which Booster Should I use for My Camping Site? http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-booster-should-i-use-for-my-camping-site-4430/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-booster-should-i-use-for-my-camping-site-4430/#comments Thu, 11 Mar 2010 20:00:33 +0000 Booster Bob http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=4430

Dear Booster Bob,

Here is my situation … We have a summer camping area and we only get a slim poor bar of signal cellular. I’m wondering which booster kit I could purchase in order to boost the signal of my cell phone?

Answer:

There are many options I would recommend for your situation. The first is the dual-band Wi-Ex 510 booster kit (Product replaced by YX545) with the YX 029 platinum antenna upgrade. The outdoor upgradeable antenna picks up the signal from farther away and is good only if you currently get one or two bars. I also have some products from Wilson Electronics. The 841262 provides a few hundred feet of improved signal coverage. The Wilson 841263 is similar to the 841262 but reaches out farther to get the signal needed to boost the signal area. It covers about the same amount of space as the 841262. Both are dual band, covering most cell carriers except Sprint/Nextel IDen phones.

Quantum-Wireless.com has all kinds of cell signal boosters that fit your needs.

Which Booster is necessary for a Camper? http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-booster-is-necessary-for-a-camper-4418/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-booster-is-necessary-for-a-camper-4418/#comments Thu, 11 Mar 2010 16:19:59 +0000 Booster Bob http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=4418

Dear Booster Bob,

My wife and I have iPhones and need better reception in fringe areas. What do you have for this? I need it for my car or camper.

John,

I recommend the Wilson 801212 – it’s a mobile cell signal amplifier that’s perfect for campers and vehicles. It comes with an exterior antenna that needs to be mounted outside the car using the magnetic mounts that’s included in the kit. It’s a plug in and play kit that’s powered by a 12 volt plug into the cigarette lighter. Quantum-Wireless.com has all your cell signal boosters needs, offering kits for your car, house and business from Wilson Electronics and other booster companies.

IPhone Boost Needed http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/iphone-boost-needed-4303/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/iphone-boost-needed-4303/#comments Tue, 23 Feb 2010 15:57:36 +0000 Booster Bob http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=4303

Dear Booster Bob,

Which Model Wilson Amplifier do I need for the Apple iPhone?   If I buy from you and I can’t get  better reception at my house with the amplifier, can I return it for a full refund?

iPhone Customer-

You will need any one of Wilson’s dual-band amplifiers because AT&T separates its data and voice streams in all markets. The 84262 covers up to 15 feet near the unit. Wilson offers competitive pricing on its cell signal boosters. The IBooster is for those that need to improve their signal while in the car or on the go.

Ask Booster Bob: Antenna Distance Question http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/ask-booster-bob-antenna-distance-question-3950/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/ask-booster-bob-antenna-distance-question-3950/#comments Tue, 02 Feb 2010 18:26:26 +0000 admin http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=3950

Q: I don’t see where the Wilson Single Band In-Building kit is helping me with improving my cell signal. What do I do?

A: You said at about 15 feet away you have two bars – do you still drop calls at this distance? The aluminum trim over the wood is greatly affecting the unit’s ability to pick up a signal. You can try the Yagi antenna to eliminate the effects of this but to be perfectly honest, your best bet is to put the antenna outside of the house. It needs to be away from metal or have some help, which the Yagi could provide.

Q: The antenna is located at the peak of a roof inside my attic.  There is no metal within 10ft.  If I mount the antenna outside I will need to run about 100ft of cable from the unit to the antenna.  Is the single band kit going to provide coverage throughout the house if our house is about 3300sqft?

A: You said earlier in our discussions that your roof was lined with aluminum, correct? The bottom line is that the unit won’t do much with the aluminum in its way. You also said you are getting two bars within 15 feet. What did you get before? The Wilson 841262 would cover a total range of about 5,000 sq feet but the Wilson 801247 gets just about 2,000 sq feet. Now with the aluminum factored in, it is going to be right around 1,500 at the most. The product does work but putting it outside will ensure optimal results. We have a 100 foot run of RG11 that I can send you. If you decide not to keep the product then the cable would need to be returned to Quantum along with the unit. Do you want me to send this cable out to you?
