Wi-Ex, the pioneer in the signal booster industry, recently showcased two new international range products – zBoost-ONE UMTS 3G signal booster and zBoost International Dual Band – at International Franchise Association show in Berlin. The zBoost ONE UMTS 3G signal booster can be used in the home or office and works on UMTS/HSPA (2100 MHz). zBoost International is designed to address customers in the US and outside and increases the indoor cell coverage up to 200 sq.meters.
“The zBoost-ONE UMTS and zBoost International add to our award winning line of consumer focused solutions for improving in-door signal .We are working with top dealers and distributors across Europe to provide the zBoost solution to consumers. With mobile Internet usage becoming mainstream in Europe, our zBoost-ONE UMTS provides consumers with a carrier specific solution that will enable them to enjoy all of the benefits of 3G.” said Lloyd R. Meese, CEO of Wi-Ex.
zBoost-ONE UMTS supports UMTS based cell phones like the iPhone™, Blackberry™ and Palm™. So, what exactly does the zBoost-ONE UMTS do? zBoost-ONE UMTS is designed to support 2100MHz based UMTS cell phones. It boosts the indoor cellular coverage for 3G data services and also finds access in dead zones by improving throughput and reducing dropped calls. zBoost is easy to setup too – you just need to place the unit in the window, plug it in and enjoy the data functionality on a UMTS mobile and aircards up to 13 square meters.
zBoost-ONE UMTS features
Recent statistics show that there are about 400 million 3G subscribers worldwide. Forrester Research concludes that 13 percent of Western European consumers now access the Internet on their mobile device and 50 percent know how to use cell phone to access the internet. zBoost International works with most of US and International carriers. It is easy to install and can support multiple users simultaneously with the omni-directional antenna. The zBoost International package consists of amplifier base unit, power supply, base unit antenna, low-loss SATV coaxial cable (RG6), signal antenna and mounting hardware.
About Wi-Ex
Founded in 2000, Wi-Ex manufactures and markets the zBoost line of cell phone signal boosters for use in the home, office, or car. zBoost is the first line of consumer friendly products to reduce dropped/missed calls and increase signal strength and battery life of cell phones, smartphones, and wireless data cards at an affordable price. zBoost works well with most U.S. carriers including AT&T, Sprint, Vodaphone, Verizon, MetroPCS, and T-Mobile and operates at dual 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands. In early 2006, Wi-Ex was acknowledged as one of Georgia’s top 10 innovative companies and at CES in both 2007 and 2010, Wi-Ex was selected for Design and Engineering Awards. Wi-Ex continues to develop innovative products to meet the demands of the ever-increasing wireless world by enhancing wireless signals. zBoost products are available nationally and internationally through its distribution partners.

So what is a wireless amplifier…?
A wireless amplifier is an electrical device which strengthens the power or gain of a wireless signal in order to send a signal over longer distances. Unfortunately, amplifiers also strengthen the noise and other unwanted garbage when amplifying the primary signal. When the 802.11 standard was originally developed, a wireless signal was meant to replace local area network Ethernet cabling. A wireless signal without amplification will travel 300-500 feet. However, with the proper elevation of 100 ft. and an amplifier, plus the right antennas, a wireless signal can be sent more than 20-30 miles.
…but who is Wilson Electronics?
Are world leader in cellular improvement products for mobile and in-building applications. Wilson’s cellular boosters overcome the problem of dropped calls, limited range and reduced data rates for cell phones and data cards by amplifying weak cellular signals. The powerful bidirectional cellular amplifiers provide the highest receiver sensitivity in the industry and protect cell sites by preventing oscillation and overload. Also, the efficient cellular antennas are available in a wide range of designs (omni, Yagi, panel) for interior and exterior mounting in buildings, cars, trucks, RVs and boats.
The 801212 & 801213 Wireless Amplifier Cradle Kits
Wilson’s (801212 & 801213) mobile amplifier kit, is an all new product designed for any mobile application. If you work on the road, commute through dead cell zones, or just experiencing poor cellular signal, here is a product that will solve your problem. Installation for this kit couldn’t be any easier. It’s literally a Plug-and-Play. It installs in minutes, and doesn’t require any tools.
With the (801212 & 801213) mobile amplifier kit, you can improve your cell phone and data card performance when you are always on the move. Whether you are using it in your car, truck, RV, SUV, or boat, Wilson’s (801212 & 801213) will increase your bars and give you the signal you need to stay connected. This Wireless Amplifier was designed to support multiple phones and cellular-based data cards at the same time. It is compatible with all phones using 824-894 MHz & 1850-1990 MHz frequencies (except iDEN, Nextel), and with all generations of CDMA, TDMA, & GSM.
The amplifier functions with two antennas : the outside antenna communicates with the cell site and the inside antenna with your cell phone. The exterior antenna supplied is a magnet mount antenna. The inside antenna, installs just as easy as the outside antenna. It is a low profile antenna and can be applied in multiple ways. The most common way to use this antenna is to attach in on the side of the driver seat to keep it as close as possible to user and cell phone.

After setting up the entire connection as directed and with the amplifier powered on and working, the signal bars immediately increase. Hence, faster data throughput rates for mobile data terminals can be achieved with stronger cellular signals. This is verified by the above shown test results.
Wilson’s 801212 & 801213 cell phone amplifiers offer safe overload protection circuit. They automatically resets whenever overload occurs on this bidirectional amplifier. RF shielding also occurs when using this RF receiver and transmitter: Wireless phones vary their power output based on their proximity to cell sites and this RF technology makes cellular phones lower their power output simulating an RF shield because it simulates proximity to a cell site thereby resulting in safer phones and longer battery life.
Law enforcements and other emergency vehicles are depending more on cellular communication for their information needs. Cellular amplifiers improve both cellular coverage area and data throughput rates by supplying a stronger and more consistent cellular signal to cellular equipment in mobile vehicles and command centers.
]]>“To sum it up, based on the research, Wilson’s Mobile Wireless Dual-Band Amplifier Kit has proven to be a great product that really works. If it works with your cell phone, and you’ll use it enough to justify the cost, the Wilson Electronics Wireless Amplifier Cradle Kit is a great tool for boosting your cell phone’s reception.”
