How does the XLink BTTN work? I want to finally rid my home of a land line and use this as an alternative.

The XLink BTTN allows users to connect three cell phones and your home phones to one line. The device allows users to use their cell phones in their home, ridding users of their land line forever. The XLink BTTN uses Bluetooth technology to communicates with your cell phone, this version has an additional telephone line input. Once set up, all the telephones will ring through your regular telephones.

The connector output from the XLink BTTN works just like the telephone line from the phone company. You are able to connect any regular phone equipment to it, including answering machines. The telephone input means you can connect any analog telephone source to it. This includes the basic phone line from the phone company or VoIP adapters. There’s no additional cords, as long as your cell phone is near the device, your cell phone connects to the XLink BTTN.

The XLink BTTN allows its users to rid themselves of home lines forever. The XLink is a one of a kind product from Quantum-Wireless.com. They’re reasonably priced and can be shipped as soon as you place your order. The device allows users to connect up to three cell phones, meaning users can pool the family plan, plug it into the XLink BTTN and you’ll never need to a land line again.

Wi-Ex zBoost Salutes Quantum-Wireless’ CEO For Haiti Outreach http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/wi-ex-zboost-salutes-quantum-wireless-ceo-for-haiti-outreach-5117/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/wi-ex-zboost-salutes-quantum-wireless-ceo-for-haiti-outreach-5117/#comments Thu, 03 Jun 2010 20:36:31 +0000 admin http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=5117

Wi-Ex ZBoost products provide an improved cellular signal. They amplify the signal from the cell tower and broadcast the improved signal inside your home for better cellular reception. Cell phones have become a necessity  It provides a great solution in times of struggle and hardship.

Wi-Ex (www.wi-ex.com), the leading provider of consumer cell phone signal boosters, is proud to recognize one of its top dealers for their disaster recovery work in Haiti. Ari Zoldan, CEO of Quantum Networks, LLC (www.Quantum-Wireless.com), traveled to Haiti in January as a communications specialist volunteer and used Wi-Ex’s zBoost Dual Band to help strengthen signal in the area and keep those affected by the disaster connected to the outside world.

“After seeing the zBoost at work in a real life crisis situation, I can see how the product can be utilized in other parts of the world during disasters and emergencies.”

“Based on my volunteering experience in third-world countries including Haiti, companies such as Wi-Ex can add significant value to disaster relief situations. During my stay in Haiti we were off the grid so we were able to use a wind turbine to power the device and seamlessly have signal allowing connectivity to both voice and data. I left the zBoost installed so that the residents of that area can stay connected to the outside world during this difficult time,” said Zoldan. “After seeing the zBoost at work in a real life crisis situation, I can see how the product can be utilized in other parts of the world during disasters and emergencies.”

Wi-Ex provides disaster management officials with solutions to help boost cell phone signal in areas of weak service for personal and public safety issues including disaster areas, campuses, health care facilities, safety and emergency vehicles, and public parking decks.

“We were pleased to be able to help Ari on his mission in Haiti. Consumers all over the world rely on their cell phones as an essential communications tool. This was clearly demonstrated in the recent disasters in Haiti and Chile. The mobile user in developing countries rely on their mobile phone as their portal to the world, and without that signal they are isolated from communicating with the outside world,” said Lloyd R. Meese, CEO of Wi-Ex.

Testing the MiFi 2352 from Novatel Wireless http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/testing-the-mifi-2352-from-novatel-wireless-5002/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/testing-the-mifi-2352-from-novatel-wireless-5002/#comments Mon, 17 May 2010 21:17:49 +0000 Michael Licata http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=5002

Presentation

The Novatel Wireless 2352 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot provides a truly mobile solution for those looking to get an internet connection while on the go. It uses your SIM card to connect up to five WiFi enabled devices to the internet. Novatel Wireless presents the MiFi 2352 in a nice, small, black package with a USB connection, power cable for European adaptors, battery and a small instruction guide.

First Impressions

Everything necessary is in the box, including the adapter. The black presentation makes it look cool and sleek. The instructions aren’t too technical and in basic English. Any person should be able to place their SIM card and battery inside the device. The only button on the device is an on/off switch. Simply plug the USB into a computer and wait for a charge. When it’s fully charged you can use your MiFi 2352.

Using the MiFi 2352

We tested the device using Windows 7 OS. It’s a simpler way of dealing with internet connections. The MiFi 2352 came up and we were connected after passing some solid security features. It’s configured with a 128-bit WEP encryption. The password to use the device is located on the inside of the battery cover. You’ll know when you’re connected – a blue WiFi signal appears and flashes on the MiFi 2352. The LED indicator shows the connection status: violet for HSP, green for GPRS/EDGE and other connections. The USB connection allows for only one device to be connected to the internet and Mobilink software must be downloaded to enjoy this feature. The Mobilink software is a great help to MiFi 2352 users. It shows how long you’ve been connected, data transfer numbers and signal strength.

Signal Quality and Areas Covered

When users put the unit next to the laptop, they got all five bars. When they got about 20 feet away from the device, it started to change from two to four bars. The connection stayed reliable throughout the testing. The MiFi 2352 works tremendously well because users aren’t limited by a specific operator. It should work with any 3G SIM card.

Results
The Novatel Wireless MiFi 2352 is a great device, efficient and well worth the price. It’s sexy black design gives its users a simple wireless internet connection in their pocket. Quantum-Wireless.com has the MiFi 2352 in stock and available to ship now. Quantum-Wireless.com has a complete selection of MiFi devices from Novatel Wireless. The MiFi 2372 works on North American frequencies. The MiFi 2352 works on European frequencies. There is also a MiFi 2200 series that works with both Verizon and Sprint.

Which Cell Signal Booster is Good for my Verizon MiFi? http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-cell-signal-booster-is-good-for-my-verizon-mifi-4949/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-cell-signal-booster-is-good-for-my-verizon-mifi-4949/#comments Thu, 13 May 2010 17:49:26 +0000 Booster Bob http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=4949

Product Replaced by YX545

YX510

Dear Booster Bob,

I am looking for a signal boost for my Verizon MiFi, which picks up the Verizon signal and converts it to a Wi-Fi hot spot for use in our house. I am looking at the YX029 antenna and the YX510 booster (Product replaced by YX545) because our signal is marginal. What is the difference between the YX029 and the Platinum and Ultra Platinum versions of the YX029?

The Ultra Platinum has a longer Yagi antenna. The YX029 plus the Wi-Ex ZBoost 510 should be good enough for your application. It comes with 50ft. of cable so the connection from the roof to the unit should be secure. The unit covers 2500 sq. feet inside your home or small office. Quantum-Wireless.com has a complete selection of Wi-Ex zBoost products, including the YX 510 and YX029 upgraded antenna.

Which Cell Signal Booster Works for a 1500 Sq. Ft. Home? http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-cell-signal-booster-works-for-a-1500-sq-ft-home-4934/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/which-cell-signal-booster-works-for-a-1500-sq-ft-home-4934/#comments Tue, 11 May 2010 21:43:25 +0000 Booster Bob http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=4934

We are having poor reception with our cell phones and I am wondering about getting a cell phone booster for our home. We get 2 bars in part of our house and in another part we are on extended service and our calls get cut off. I have 3 bars outside and our home is probably 1500 sq ft . We still get calls cut off outside though.

There are many solutions for your problem. The Wilson 801247 seems like the best solution for your poor cell signal. Wilson Electronics sells some of the best cell signal boosters on the market. Wi-Ex ZBoost is also a quality brand and it’s more reasonably priced than Wilson products. The Wi-Ex ZBoost 510 (Product replaced by YX545) should solve your problem. Both suggestions are dual band. Dual band boosters cover the 800 MHz and 1900MHz frequencies, covering all major U.S. cell carriers except Nextel’s iDen network. Call 1-877-259-4629 for more information about both Wi-Ex ZBoost and Wilson Electronics cell signal boosters. Quantum-Wireless.com has a complete selection of cell signal boosters.

Novatel Wireless released their finances for the first quarter of 2010. Total revenue from the quarter amounted to $72.2 million, a loss of $3.4 million for the quarter. There are signs for success at Novatel Wireless.

The company won best non-Handset Device in 2010, Mobile News Award for the MiFi 2352. It also launched the MiFi 2372 with a2network at Inter Communications in Japan. Novatel Wireless collaborated with Spirent Communications and AT4 on LTE device testing.

“Our first quarter results were in-line with our guidance and reflect higher sales of our MiFi Intelligent Mobile Hotspot products which represented 47% of total revenues,” said Peter Leparulo, chairman and CEO of Novatel Wireless. “Although we are experiencing price compression ahead of a product transition in our core products, we anticipate that both core and embedded products will return to growth in the second half of the year as we launch new content-delivery and innovative next generation 4G products.”
