Quantum Now Offering New 4G LTE Booster by Wilson http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/quantum-now-offering-new-4g-lte-booster-by-wilson-7516/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/quantum-now-offering-new-4g-lte-booster-by-wilson-7516/#comments Thu, 08 Sep 2011 15:29:41 +0000 Yannick Schwarz http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=7516

Quantum now offers the latest Wilson Electronics 4G LTE 700 70dB Amplifier!

The Wilson 4G LTE 700 was created to provide a stronger 4G LTE signal over large coverage areas in any type of building. The 4G booster uses the 700MHz bandwidth and thus fits the U.S. market’s main LTE carriers (Verizon and AT&T). It offers a gain of up to 70dB  for uplink and downlink. Easy to install, the 4G LTE 700′s gain can be adjusted which also makes the antenna placement less critical.

The 4G LTE 700 has been designed to optimize the mobile 4G broadband signal in medium to large buildings, it can easily cover a multi-story office or apartment building. Wilson’s device supports multiple simultaneous connections, and includes Wilson’s patented oscillation. In order to prevent the booster from causing interference on the cellular network, it also features advanced cell site proximity detection technologies, developed in partnership with Verizon in an effort to comply to the latest FCC rules. The model works with all LTE devices and service providers operating on the 700 MHz network.

Quantum’s 4G booster solutions already featured Wilson’s 4G AWS booster and now they add the 4G LTE 700 70dB Amplifier to its top-notch cellular signal booster portfolio.

To properly install the 4G booster, two antennas (interior and exterior) will be needed. They can be purchased separately on Quantum Wireless.

Please call our sale support at 1-877-259-4629 for personalized service and installations that fulfill your exact needs (in terms of area to be covered, signal strength, service provider, etc).

Wilson Joins Forces with Verizon to Develop New Signal Boosters http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/wilson-joins-forces-with-verizon-to-develop-new-signal-boosters-7317/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/wilson-joins-forces-with-verizon-to-develop-new-signal-boosters-7317/#comments Wed, 27 Jul 2011 20:38:31 +0000 Yannick Schwarz http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=7317

Our valued long-time partner Wilson Electronics just announced in a press-release its partnership with service provider Verizon Wireless as a reaction to new FCC rules about cellular signal boosters for consumers.

Recently, the FCC updated its requests in terms of technical specifications on the operation and use of cell phone signal boosters destined to the general public. Wilson Electronics and Verizon Wireless have thus agreed to cooperate in order to develop enhanced products. Both companies believe that signal boosters are an important asset for consumers who live or work in areas where the signal coverage may not be optimal. They also address the known issue of poorly built amplifiers that may cause cell site interference and worsen the situation rather than improve it. Thus, Wilson’s new product line, developed conjointly with Verizon Wireless, will protect the cellular network while continuing to provide the consumer with more reliable 3G and 4G networks, notably Verizon’s 4G LTE network.

Quantum Wireless is looking forward to introduce Wilson’s latest cell phone signal boosters, supported by Verizon.

For now, you can find existing signal booster solutions on Quantum Wireless and make sure to consider Wilson Electronics’ top sellers. All our signal booster ensure a stronger, more reliable and faster network, they adapt to every building situation (home, office, warehouse, etc.) and are configured for both 3G and 4G.

Quantum-Wireless and Wilson Electronics Announce the Release of the First 4G Cell Booster http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/quantum-wireless-and-wilson-electronics-announce-the-release-of-the-first-4g-cell-booster-6151/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/quantum-wireless-and-wilson-electronics-announce-the-release-of-the-first-4g-cell-booster-6151/#comments Wed, 05 Jan 2011 18:59:08 +0000 Kristina Tsamis http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=6151

Wilson Electronics’ 4G AWS Cell Booster is the first signal- improving device to enter the 4G market, providing “more bars” for T-Mobile users.
New York, New York—January 5, 2011—Quantum-Wireless, a leading online provider of wireless equipment, is proud to partner with top cell booster manufacturer, Wilson Electronics, for the release of the first-ever 4G signal booster. The Wilson 4G AWS Cell Booster is just one in an extensive line of 4G cellular repeaters slated to be unveiled in early 2011.
Cell phone signal boosters for the 850MHz and 1900MHz bands have proliferated the market in recent years, offering improved signal strength, fewer dropped calls and faster data speeds to individuals in rural parts of the country or other areas that struggle with poor reception. Until now, however, no cellular amplifiers have been designed to function on the AWS 1700MHz frequency, a band owned primarily by T-Mobile.
“There has been a serious void in the marketplace for a 4G repeater,” says Quantum-Wireless COO, Eytan Weiner. “As a 4G company that is already working with Wilson, we are thrilled to offer this new cell booster as part of our 4G portfolio. The Wilson AWS amplifier is a true game-changing offering for the 4G space.”
“The release of our first 4G signal booster demonstrates Wilson’s continuing commitment to match the evolution of wireless technologies,” said Joe Banos, Wilson Electronics COO. “We’re very pleased to work with 4G retailer, Quantum-Wireless, to bring the benefits of this signal booster to customers in weak signal areas who plan to use AWS wireless services.”
The Wilson 4G AWS Cell Booster has a 60dB gain and is being introduced to the market at $399.95. It is available for preorder at www.quantum-wireless.com and slated for release during the first quarter of 2011.

Satellite and Wireless: UK Rural Broadband Looks to the Stars http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/satellite-and-wireless-uk-rural-broadband-looks-to-the-stars-5909/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/satellite-and-wireless-uk-rural-broadband-looks-to-the-stars-5909/#comments Fri, 29 Oct 2010 17:33:49 +0000 Tiferet Weiss http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=5909

One of the bigger problems barring rural communities’ ability to engage in the technological advances of the modern era is their physical isolation from major cities; because networks (such as the increasingly popular 4G) aren’t as likely to be maintained in areas less densely populated than their urban counterparts, country dwellers – including the agricultural and farming industries – find themselves with a dearth of mobile coverage and cell service. Fortunately, the UK, in alliance with the Broadband Stakeholder Group, might just have the solution: a combined introduction of wireless and satellite services.

BSG, already an established consultant on increasing rates of internet access for the UK government, has proposed a dual investment in Satellite ISP based tech and wireless providers (including 4G WiMAX and Wi-Fi) as solid conduits of Next Generation Access broadband internet to remotely based customers. "The story of broadband Britain isn’t just about fibre,” said Antony Walker, CEO of BSG. “It is about how we enable a range of technologies to be deployed. There simply isn’t a one size fits all technology solution to deliver a truly ubiquitous next generation broadband Britain, we’ll need to use all of the technologies available. Making detailed comparisons between different technologies is difficult. There are always trade-offs to be made. This report seeks to make those trade-offs more transparent and should help to inform decision makers up and down the country who are thinking about the UK’s future broadband capability."

The suggested improvements to this off-the-road network, enthusiastically met by UK officials, have already been analyzed for cost and current technology comparison. No solution, however, is without flaw – several points at issue associated with the substantial upgrade include somewhat unjustified confidence in an underdeveloped technology, not to mention a dauntingly weighty price tag. Reviewing the actual progress made thus far by 4G technology, there is reason to question just how fast the supposedly next-gen wireless will actually be. Global feedback has already reported slow upload speeds, insufficient user allowances, and sparse coverage; it is expected to be years before download speeds reach even 8-10 Mbps. Furthermore, the pricing, as aforementioned, is absurdly high; with hardware setup costs reaching up to nearly £1000, and optimum plan fees jumping to between £920 – £3500 per month for wireless, and £2800 – £5800 per month for satellite, there is reason to question just how fiscally practical either one of these solutions might be. While BSG has acknowledged there are complications with their ambitious agenda, the farm-dwelling UK public certainly has a lot to consider in advancing their current network standards.

What’s the difference between the XLink BT & the XLink BTTN? http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/whats-the-difference-between-the-xlink-bt-the-xlink-bttn-5342/ http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/whats-the-difference-between-the-xlink-bt-the-xlink-bttn-5342/#comments Mon, 02 Aug 2010 17:42:05 +0000 Jeremy Rosenberg http://www.quantum-wireless.com/blog/?p=5342

Don’t you just hate missed calls? Isn’t it annoying to run around your house, looking for your cell phone? Then stop making life hard for yourself, and get an XLink. XLink is a leading manufacturer in Cellular Gateways and Bluetooth Docking Stations. The company makes two products, the XLink BT and the XLink BTTN. The BT enables you to connect up to three cell phones to your home phones, whether they are corded or cordless. This gives you the freedom to roam around your house and answer all calls from anywhere in your house. No more desperate searches for your cell phone. This XLink BT is a great device for people that don’t want or need a landline, or have just cancelled their landline service.

The XLink BTTN has a standard telephone line input so that you can connect a landline or a VOIP adapter to your phone as well. All four telephone sources can now be accessed from regular telephones through the BTTN. Both devices employ wireless Bluetooth technology so there are no wires or cables needed. You can even connect your answering machine to the device to truly make it a fully functioning home telephone. Features include voice recognition, one-touch voicemail dial back, and SMS Text message alerts.

The device is simple to set up. First, place your phone within 30 feet of the XLink device, preferably in the area of your house with the best coverage. Next, press one of the 3 top buttons on the XLink device, and enter your phone’s Bluetooth mode. Simply enter 1234 as the pin, and you’re all set! A huge advantage of these devices is that you no longer have to be tied to your cell phone. You can relax on your couch while taking calls from your house phone. Enjoy superior audio quality with your home headset, while eliminating the risk of radiation associated with extensive cell phone calls and cell phone usage. What’s great is that you still have caller ID capabilities with these devices. This enables you to redirect calls from your cell phone to your house phone, and still identify who is calling. Voice and speed dialing are also available.

The bottom line is: if you want to ditch your landline, get the XLink BT. If you want to keep your landline, get the XLink BTTN. Either way, you’ll have the freedom of your cell phone with the comfort of your home phone. And that, my friends, is certainly worth the price of admission.
