Like other models in its line, the Cradlepoint CTR500 broadcasts signals from personal mobile broadband modems to create a wireless hotspot for your business partners, friends, and family. The CTR500 broadband travel router was designed specifically for mobility; to share your internet connection wherever you go.
This travel-sized, sleek 3G/4G router stands above the rest for its versatility. The CTR500 contains three separate connection ports, each built for a different mobile broadband device: a USB port, an Ethernet port and an ExpressCard slot. No matter what your connection to the web, the CTR500 can build you a network.
The Cradlepoint CTR500 also features a failover function. What's this? With multiple ports, you can plug in several modems at a time. So let's say that you've got an ExpressCard locked in to the CTR500 as well as an Ethernet cable. If the Ethernet suddenly fails, the CTR500 automatically connects to the cellular network through the ExpressCard. This ensures reliable, continuous connectivity, making your web experience simpler and easier.
Designed specifically for travel, this 3G/4G router fits easily into pockets or computer cases. The elegant, streamlined design features a signal strength indicator on the cover, keeping you informed about your connection status. The mobile broadband router also supports up to 32 users and WiFi-enabled devices, so you'll never have to worry about overloading the network.
This broadband travel router also sports a few other neat features. The CTR500 includes an on/off switch for the WiFi signal and a special lock for the ExpressCard, preventing it from coming loose. A WiFi antenna jack also allows users to attach high-gain WiFi antennas to the CTR500. This could amplify your signal strength.
All in all, the Cradlepoint CTR500 offers plenty of innovative features that make it suitable for a wide spectrum of users and applications. Don’t need coverage for 32 users? The Cradlepoint PHS300 is a great option for up to 16 users. To cover up to 64 users, check out the Cradlepoint MBR1000 3G/4G Router.

1- The user experience with devices running Windows Mobile is less robust than other phones and modems. Windows Mobile devices connected to either a PC or a CradlePoint router have exhibited erratic behavior while using data sharing capabilities. Issues include frequent disconnects for no apparent reason and remedies entail frequent rebooting the phone and or removing the phone's battery. This problem is not something that can be resolved by CradlePoint Technology and will need to be addressed by the phone manufacturer. Please refer to our release notes.
